Research activity
Doctoral thesis read in 2012 with outstanding cum laude. 2 five-year teaching periods (quinquenios) and 2 six-year research period. Research member of MANES Research Centre since 2002. My research is framed within the history of education, branching out into the lines of educational policy, school culture, teachers' life histories, recovery of school historical memory, emotions and feelings, and methodological issues. The theme of my doctoral thesis (emotional indoctrination) and my international career and scientific achievement in research methodology with school texts as sources for the history of education stand out, with publications in specialised publishers and participation in international congresses, receiving an award for several of them and interviews in two Brazilian journals. Emotions and feelings have been my object and categories of empirical textual study in school texts produced in authoritarian political contexts, leading me to renew the methodology of internal empirical analysis of documents in their textual and linguistic structure. My multicultural experience living and working in Germany, England, and Italy has allowed me to consolidate close international research links. My medium and long term scientific interests and objectives lay in three areas: investigating on the preliminaries and prologues of textbooks as a literary genre, on the representation of the distinction between human beings and other animals, including social behaviours and collective actions of solidarity and empathy; in the transmission of historical and planetary awareness in the social and natural sciences, and in the methodological refinement of research on educational resources to identify the scientific knowledge transmitted. 2 post-doctoral research visits: Georg-Eckert-Institut für Internationale Schulbuchforschug, Braunschweig, Germany (1-31/10/2012) and Institute of Education (University of London) (1-30/11/2013). 3 teaching mobility stays at the universities of Macerata (7-11/04/2014), University College of Southeast Norway, Norway (19-23/09/2016) and Bologna (9-12/04/2018). Organization of the International Symposium on Education in Periods of Political Transition, at the International Centre for School Culture (CEINCE), Berlanga de Duero, Soria, Spain (13-15/04/2015), together with Professor Anna Ascenzi (University of Macerata, Italy). 8 Final Masters Dissertation (TFM) directed and 1 doctoral thesis co-directed (defended in November 2018). 3 doctoral theses in progress. Member of 2 international doctoral thesis Committee (Brazil and Italy), of several research prize juries, and of the National Young Poetry Award Miguel Hernández in 2018.
