Academic Information

Mª Ángeles Escobar Álvarez is University Professor in the Department of Foreign Philologies and Linguistics at the UNED. She has a Bachelor degree in English Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid. She carried out her doctoral training at the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands), where she was awarded a Ph.D. in Lingusitics. She continued postdoctoral studies in the USA: California (USC, UCLA), Massachussetts (UMAS and the MIT). She was appointed Lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1998 and since 2002 she has been working in Madrid: first,  at the University of Nebrija (Madrid), and then at the UNED from 2003, where she has taught English Linguistics  the Bachelor of English Philology and  later on in the Degree of "English Studies: Language, Literature and Culture", and in the Degree of "Tourism". She is also a member of the academic board  in the Masters of "Applied English Linguistics" and "Information Technologies and Communication for Language Learning and Processing”, and in the “Teacher Training Programme”.
