Research activity
My PhD thesis (“The War on Terror and the transformation in the legitimacy of violence: a case study in the Basque Country. (1998-2010”) covered institutional/cultural transformations in Spanish counterterrorism after 9/11, opening a research agenda on the politics of counterterrorism and the Sociology of security in Spain. I bring the international/global as a core dimension of domestic policies and examine how it shapes and transforms society. I have studied State transformation through CT and C/PVE more recently. Also on conflict, collective action, citizenship’s practices, and political culture. This agenda is at the junction of Political Sociology, International Studies (International Political Sociology/Critical Terrorism Studies) and Criminology. I have published in high rank scientific journals and contributions to collective volumes and presented my work in numerous international conferences.
I am open to international networking-collaboration and have co-written collaborative projects for international schemas. As a member of the Research Group for the Study of Politics and Society since its creation in 2006, I have organized workshops, conference and intersectoral Events. I am open international networking and collaborations for international funding schemas.
