Academic Information

I am Assistant Professor in International Relations at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. I obtained my PhD in Political Science/International   in 2015 (University Complutense of Madrid, UCM), where I also studied a Master in International Relations (2008). I also hold a Master-Diploma in Political Science from the University of Salamanca (USAL, 2013).

Research activity

.

My research focuses on the interlink between international, regional and domestic arenas, specially in the Maghreb and in Morocco, and on Islamist political parties and their processes of transformation. I also study foreign politicies towards the region and how domestic actors react to it. My work on these questions has led me to be visitting researcher at NIMAR (the Leiden University expertise centre for Moroccan Studies), the Middle East Centre (MEC, St Antony's College, University of Oxford), Université International de Rabat (UIR) and Centre Jacques Berque (CJB, Rabat).

I have recently been working on two research projects: "Crisis and Regional Change Processes in North Africa: The Implications for Spain", and  "‘The International Dimension of Political Transformations in the Arab World", both financed by the Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (MINECO), the State Research Agency (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
