Abstract

PhD in Psychology from the University of Seville (2002) and Magister in Advanced Data Analysis and Model Construction from the UCM (2005). He has focused his teaching on psychometrics, as well as on different postgraduate courses related to the construction and adaptation of psychometric instruments, validity and Structural Equation Modelling. In applied research, his interest has been sold due to the construction and adaptation of instruments for measuring latent variables, while in its basic aspect due to the interrelation between the main elements of design, measurement and analysis that allow optimization of validity in quasi-experimental and correlational studies. Within the applied aspect, the research on relevant variables in the psychological adjustment of children and adolescents stands out. As a result of this research, papers have been published in journals from different areas such as Psychology, Medicine, Economics, Education, or Methodology of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Some of these works (i.e., Holgado-Tello, Chacón-Moscoso, Barbero and Vila, 2010) have received a high number of citations, thus, for example, it occupies the 100th percentile in terms of citations received by articles published in Quality & Quantity, that is, cited by more than 1100 articles in Google Scholar, and by more than 510 in Web of Science (WOS), occupying the 100th percentile of the most cited articles in the “Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary” category of the WOS. Other works (i.e., Holgado-Tello, Egido, Carrasco and del Barrio, 2013) have been echoed in media such as El Mundo, El Economista, Mía, Canal Sur Radio, or Muy Interesante, for example.

Along his academic career, in addition to teaching and research tasks, he has held some relevant management positions, such as Deputy Vice-Rector for Planning and Economic Affairs between 2008 and 2010; Coordinator of two Master's degrees (Research Master's in Psychology between 2012 and 2014; Interuniversity Master's in Behavioral Sciences Methodology in 2018) and member of the UNED Inspection Service (since 2018).

I would like to highlight that we have participated in the publication of more than 100 articles in journals with an anonymous review process and/or indexed in JCR. A relevant fact of this production and the wide range of the research carried out is the collaboration with a total of more than 80 different co-authors. Likewise, 15 doctoral theses have been directed, and 8 are in preparation. Finally, we have participated as a researcher continuously in 12 national and international research projects.
