Research activity
- Prevent violent radicalization and encourage disengagement.
 He has done field and online work with individuals at risk of radicalization, radicals (e.g., terrorists, Latino gangs, organized crime), and ex-terrorists. He is currently the IP of an ERC Advanced Grant (European Research Council).
- Predictors and mediating mechanisms of willingness to self-sacrifice for a group, for another individual, or for values. 
 He has been granted over a dozen Ministry projects and international contracts through which he has co-originated different theories (e.g., identity fusion, sacred values, devoted actor model) to this end.

- Deradicalizing Violent Extremist Offenders in Prison: A Randomized-Control Trial. New York University, Abu Dhabi The objective of this project is to carry out an evaluation of the effectiveness of an intervention project aimed at avoiding radicalization that can lead to violence, and at promoting the disengagement of those groups or beliefs that may be favoring violent behavior. + info
- What I learned being in prison. Deepen into the nature of identity fusion, physical and spiritual formidability, and its underlying associated mechanisms – FUSIONFORM. Spanish Ministry for Science and Innovation (ref. PID2021-124617OB-I00) This project aims to delve into the mechanisms that lead to violent radicalization and that can favor disengagement. After having carried out a study in prison with inmates linked to different criminal groups, the objective is to carry out a series of online studies of correlational and experimental design to determine the relationship between variables and determine causal relationships.+ info
