I received my MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in 2001 and the PhD in Industrial Engineering from UNED in 2005.

I have been the director of more than 20 Bachelor and Master Thesis, being one of them awarded by the Manufacturing Engineering Society (2005) and another one obtaining the Award “Premio Fundación Técnica Industrial” (2010).

I am also a member of the "Group of Teaching Innovation in Industrial Technologies in Production Field (GID-TIA-Plus)".

Research activity

My research activity is developed in the field of Manufacturing Engineering and Materials Technology, being nowadays the main areas of research the following ones:

Analysis and simulation of Metal Forming processes by numerical and experimental techniques
Optimization of Additive Manufacturing Technologies
Development of materials selection methodologies for the manufacturing of components for high demanding applications

I am a lecturer of the Doctorate Program in Industrial Technologies of the International School of Doctorate of UNED and I am a member of the Research Group of the UNED "Industrial Production and Manufacturing Engineering - (IPME)".

I have been involved in different national research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry responsible for research, being remarkable the one entitled “Study of the technological, efficient and sustainable applicability of Localized- Incremental Forging processes” (DPI2009-07300), in which I have been the main researcher.

I have realized several research stays in national centers (University of Seville, University of Cádiz, University of Castilla-La Mancha) and international (6 months at the “Institute of Metal Forming” of the RWTH Aachen University.

I have been the director of 5 Doctoral Thesis and more than 50 Master Thesis.

I have published different research articles in prestigious national and international journals.

Since 2010, I have been developing several evaluation activities of research projects for the National Agency of Evaluation and Prospective (ANEP).

Awards and Grants

Grant: Post-Doctoral Mobility Scholarship “José Castillejo” funded by the Ministry of Education.
Award: Research Prize for UNED young researchers 2010, given by Banco Santander. Evaluation Committee: Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva (ANEP).
Award: Extraordinary Doctorate Award of the ETS Ingenieros Industriales of UNED.
Scholarship: Predoctoral Fellow/ Becaria Predoctoral del Proyecto de Investigación del Plan de Promoción de la Investigación en la UNED 2002.
Award: Best Master Thesis ” Aplicaciones de termografía a problemas de transmisión de calor en máquinas de combustión interna”, given by Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales de Madrid.
