

Academic Information
María Teresa Chicote Pompanin is a postdoctoral researcher of the program Attraction of Talent financed by the Comunidad de Madrid. She studied the BA in Art History at the UCM in 2013 and the following year she enrolled in the MA in Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture at the Warburg Institute (London). She completed a PhD at the same institution in 2020 with a thesis entitled “Patronage and Historical Memories in Castile: The Marquises of Villena at the Dawn of the Early Modern Period (1445-1529)”. She has been a visiting fellow at the Real Academia de España en Roma and the Casa de Velázquez.
Academic positions held
María Teresa has been an Art History lecturer at University College London (United Kingdom), Univeristy of Piura (Perú) and Universidade Aberta (Portugal). Later on, she was worked for two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Durham University.
Research activity
María Teresa Chicote's research focuses on the inception and destruction of historical memories through cultural patronage in the transition between the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period. She is also interested in the reception of medieval heritage in later centuries.
