Academic Information

Noa Talaván completed her BA in English Studies at UCM (2002), her BA in Translation and Interpreting at UVIC (2008), her PhD with European Mention, in English Studies at UNED (2009).

Academic positions held

Noa Talaván entered the UNED in 2005 as Becaria Predoctoral, in 2007 changed to Personal Investigador en Formación, and in 2008 to Profesora Ayudante. She started as Ayudante Doctora in 2010, Contratada Doctora in 2012 y from 2018 she is Profesora Titular de Universidad. She was also Colaboradora Honorífica at UCM from 2004 to 2008.

Research activity

Dr. Talaván's main research interest is didactic audiovisual translation. Within that line of research, she coordinates de research group TRADIT (Traducción audiovisual didáctica) at the UNED, the teaching innovation group ARENA (Accesibilidad, traducción audiovisual y aprendizaje de lenguas), the yearly teaching innovation projects by ARENA group, and the national research project TRADILEX.

Professional experience

La Dra. Talaván es traductora/intérprete jurado inglés-español habilitada por el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores desde junio de 2009.
Asimismo, fue profesora de danza, especialidad Jazz y Claqué, en La Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza del Ayuntamiento del Las Rozas de 2001 a 2004.

2009-2012/2016-17: Coordinator of English Advanced C1 for Centro de Idiomas a Distancia (CUID), UNED.
2010-2014: Secretary for the Máster Universitario en Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación en la Enseñanza y el Tratamiento de Lenguas, UNED.
2015: Vice-dean for Quality and Innovation, School of Philology, UNED.
