About me

I am Associate Professor of English language and linguistics. My teaching has primarily focused on general linguistics, as well as English grammar, syntax, semantics and acquisition of English. My research pivots around synchronic contrastive syntax and semantics, and language acquisition (L1, L2 and heritage languages).

Research activity

Research lines:

  • Contrastive syntax and semantics of Germanic and Romance languages.
  • Language acquisition (L1 & L2).

Other research interests:

  • Lexicon-conceptual system interface: conceptualization and grammaticalization of time.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Semantic memory.

PhD supervision

  • Noelia Burdeus Domingo. Co-supervision with Anahí Alba de la Fuente at the University of Montreal (Canada). Thesis: Language acquisition in multilingual contexts: Analysis of the acquisition of the clitic pronoun “se” in Spanish (L1, L2 & L3).

  • Coordinator of the BA program of English Studies of the UNED (“Estudios Ingleses: Lengua, Literatura y Cultura”) (March – October 2022).
