About me

I am Associate Professor of English language and linguistics. My teaching has primarily focused on general linguistics, as well as English grammar, syntax, and semantics. Currently, I am on a stay for the requalification of university faculty in the Department of Hispanic Philology and General Linguistics at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Extremadura, where I will be staying during the academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Research lines:

  • Contrastive syntax and semantics of Germanic and Romance languages.
  • Language acquisition (L1 & L2).

Other research interests:

  • Lexicon-conceptual system interface: conceptualization and grammaticalization of time.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Semantic memory.

PhD supervision

  • Noelia Burdeus Domingo. Co-supervision with Anahí Alba de la Fuente at the University of Montreal (Canada). Thesis: Language acquisition in multilingual contexts: Analysis of the acquisition of the clitic pronoun “se” in Spanish (L1, L2 & L3).
