Professional experience

His experience covers the following areas:


APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY FOR DISTANCE LEARNING:


From 1997 until 2000 he was Coordinator of Telematic Services at UNED being responsible for the educationalvideoconferencing network. Director of Advanced Technologies in charge of the Unit for the production of Virtual Courses between 2003 and 2004.


TEACHERS’ TRAINING.


He was director of the FORMATIC Unit at IUED  (Institute of Distance Education)  from 2001 until 2002 and Deputy Director of Teachers’ Training at IUED  from 2004 until 2005, positions where he developed training programs in the use of ICT for academic teams and tutors.


QUALITY ASSURANCE AND TEACHING INNOVATION:


From 2006 to 2013 as Vice-rector for Quality and Teaching Innovation at the UNED he has coordinated the methodological adaptation of the University to the European Higher Education Area by promoting educational innovation through the implementation of the Program “Research Networks on Educational Innovation". 
In the field of QualityAssurance he has coordinated the implementation in the UNED of several quality programs promoted by the Spanish Agency for Assessment and Quality (ANECA). He also has promoted a UNED´s Institutional Program for the implementation of Management Quality Systems   in all Regional Study Centers of UNED.
He has worked as eLearning consultant to many organizations and institutions such as OAS, IDB; several institutionson Cuba, Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia and different Latin American Universities.
