Academic Information

Degree in Chemical Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, UNED, in 2010. Master’s Degree in Chemical Science and Technology from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, UNED, in 2011. PhD from the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, UNED, in 2016, awarded cum laude.

Academic positions held

I am currently a member of the academic staff at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, UNED, in the Department of Physical Chemistry Sciences and Techniques, within the area of Physical Chemistry.

Research activity

My research lines focus on Physical Chemistry applied to the development and characterisation of nanomaterials, biosensors and molecular detection systems, with particular emphasis on spectroscopic techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and electrochemical techniques. I have participated in national and international research projects related to the development of nanotechnological sensors for the detection of contaminants in air, water and food, as well as in molecular characterisation studies using Raman spectroscopy.

Professional experience

I am currently a member of the academic staff at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), in the Department of Physical Chemistry Sciences and Techniques, where I carry out teaching and research activities in the area of Physical Chemistry.

Previously, I have held scientific and technological leadership roles in R&D within technology companies, including the management of applied research projects and the coordination of experimental developments focused on sensors, functional materials and analytical applications. I have also collaborated as a researcher in national and international projects involving universities, research centres and companies.

Patents, intellectual property, knowledge transfer

I am the inventor of a national and international patent, WO2024/149912, PCT/ES2023/070077, concerning a product with anti-oomycete properties for disease control in silviculture, agriculture and aquaculture.

I am also co-inventor of an industrial secret registered by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), related to a nanotechnological methodology for object tracking through labelling.

In the field of knowledge transfer, I have participated in scientific and academic collaboration activities between universities and companies, as well as in outreach, specialised training and the development of technological applications derived from research in nanomaterials, sensors and spectroscopy.
