Academic Information

Professor of Political Science at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Before that, I taught at Universidad de Granada and Universidad de Málaga. I got a Ph.D. in Political Science and Sociology (Universidad de Granada, 2003), and I have been a visiting researcher at the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis (Ostrom Workshop) at Indiana University, the Zentralarchiv für Empirische Sozialforschung (ZA–EUROLAB) at the University of Cologne, and the Norwegian Social Science Data Services at the University of Bergen.

My research is grounded in comparative political economy, focusing on the socio-structural and institutional foundations of political preferences and behavior, with particular attention to redistribution, taxation, and the role of the state, as well as the dynamic relationship between political processes and economic inequality..
