FunDETT is a project funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (FFI2009-7308 - Subprograma FILO). Its research focus is to be found within the field of linguistic/discourse-pragmatic studies. In particular, the group is devoted to the study of the linguistic function of evaluation in different text types and at different linguistic levels. We take this function to be a very important one, because it affects and is affected by many other linguistic and socio-linguistic variables, and thus we believe that its in-depth study can shed light on many aspects of human communication and cognition.
The INT-EVAL (International Workshop on the Evaluative Function of Language: Evaluation across text types and cultures) was organized and hosted by our group with great success in October 2011. For more information about the workshop go to:
