Ideals of operators in real or complex Banach spaces.

Resumen: After recalling the notion of operator ideal in the sense of Pietsch (79) and some results on complex structures, we shall present a criterium for a C-linear operator belonging to an ideal if and only if its R-linear version belongs to the R-linear version of this ideal. As an application, we shall show that a C-linear operator between complex spaces is strictly singular if and only if it is strictly singular as a real operator.
