Hasta las últimas décadas del siglo XX, las disciplinas de Psicología y Neurociencia se desarrollaron de forma independiente; manteniendo miradas recíprocas indiferentes, cuando no abiertamente hostiles, debido a los aparentes principios dispares en que se fundamentan cada una de ellas. Tanto es así, que un importante cuerpo de científicos de una y otra disciplina las consideraran como radicalmente opuestas e irreconciliables. A mediados de los años 80 del siglo pasado, sin embargo, esta situación comenzó a cambiar drásticamente con el advenimiento de la neurociencia cognitiva, un nuevo campo de investigación interdisciplinar en el que confluyen inexorablemente psicología y neurociencia; y que se ha impuesto claramente en ambos ámbitos del conocimiento, abriendo con ello un inmenso y fructífero campo de investigación, que acrecienta y enriquece hasta límites antes insospechados las aportaciones de cada una de ellas por separado. La Jornada pretende ser fiel reflejo de los logros que se han alcanzado de la confluencia entre psicología y neurociencia en la investigación reciente con sujetos humanos.

Presentation

Until the last decades of the 20th century, the scientific disciplines of psychology and neuroscience developed independently; often with indifferent, if not openly hostile, looks at each other due to the apparent disparate and irreconcilable principles on which each of them is founded. In the mid-80s of the last century, however, this situation began to change drastically with the advent of cognitive neuroscience, a new field of purely interdisciplinary research in which psychology and neuroscience converge inexorably and which has imposed itself in both fields of knowledge. This convergence has opened a vast and fruitful field of research, which increases and enriches the contributions of each of these disciplines separately to previously unsuspected limits. The conference aims to reflect on some relevant achievements reached by the scientific confluence between psychology and neuroscience in research with human subjects.
